    ground all-spice


  • ½

    light chocolate-brown sugar,

    melted

    tablespoons
    crystallized ginger,
    chopped fine

    large egg


  • ¼
    cup
    buttermilk




For the filling:



  • 6
    ounces
    cream cheese,
    cut into 6-8 pieces, room temperature


  • 6
    tablespoons
    unsalted butter,
    room temperature


  • 1
    teaspoon
    pure vanilla extract


  • 2
    cups
    powdered sugar, sifted
    plus extra for garnish (measure, thence sift)
