Chocolate Donuts with Blood Orange Glaze (paleo, grain-free, gluten-free)

Trust me when I enjoin you’d never know these donuts were gratuitous of grains, gluten, and refined sugar! I used a mixture of almond repast as well as kokosnoot flour, too they are sweetened alongside a touch of maple syrup. Instead of using butter or unhealthy oils for moisture, I used kokosnoot crude – ane of my favorite ingredients. The chocolate/blood orangish glaze combo is perfection!

I really enjoy re-creating baked goods into healthier treats in addition to using flour alternatives. You don’t experience sick or get that awful saccharide crash similar you lot would amongst carbohydrate-laden, butter filled, white flour baked goods. These have then much protein besides! Definitely a treat you lot don’t accept to experience bad nigh eating.


Also, I’1000 obsessed alongside using cacao pulverisation late. It is such a slap-up add-on to smoothies, healthier baked goods, and I even add it to manifestly Greek yogurt amongst berries and a few drops of stevia for a guilt-gratis breakfast or dessert. It really tastes like pudding.

Ingredients





  • For the donuts:


  • ii

    almond repast


  • 1/4
    c.
    kokosnoot flour


  • one/4
    c.
    cacao pulverisation (tin too function unsweetened cocoa pulverization)


  • 1/four
    tsp.
    common salt


  • 1/iv
    tsp.
    baking soda


  • 4
    big eggs


  • 1/ii
    c.
    coconut petroleum, melted and cooled


  • three
    T.
    maple syrup


  • i
    tsp.
    vanilla


  • For the glaze:


  • ane
    c.
    powdered sugar


  • 1
    T.
    almond milk


  • juice of one blood orangish





Instructions





  1. Preheat oven to 350℉. In a medium bowl, whisk together the almond repast, coconut flour, cacao powder, table salt, as well as baking soda. Add eggs, kokosnoot crude, and maple syrup too whisk until thoroughly incorporated together with no lumps remain. Don't overmix.




  2. Spray a donut pan with nonstick spray or kokosnoot oil. Fill each good one/ii way amongst batter. Bake for fifteen-18 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool for several minutes, so withdraw from pan too home on cooling rack.




  3. Make the glaze. Combine carbohydrate, almond milk, in addition to blood orangish juice inwards a medium bowl together with whisk to combine.
